Utilizing your phone's built-in magnetometer, it enables you to detect nearby magnetic fields, making it an effective tool for locating metal and magnets. This app can even identify metallic studs or wiring hidden behind walls, with the ability to detect metals up to 30 cm away depending on your device. Please be aware that household electronics like TVs or computers may interfere with readings.

Versatile Detection Capabilities

Metal Sniffer offers flexibility in measurement by providing readings in Tesla, Gauss, or Gamma. These readings are separated per dimension and combined to give a scalar reading. You can configure a threshold so when this is exceeded, your phone vibrates to indicate the presence of nearby ferromagnetic materials. A graph displays reading trends over time, while a compass mode helps you determine the direction of the current source. Additionally, you can record readings to a .csv file for ongoing tracking or research purposes.
